With key features such as a five-pool aquatic centre, a health and fitness centre, tennis and netball courts, playgrounds, a pedestrian and cycleway, and more, the hub is designed to be a welcoming space for everyone – from sports enthusiasts to families seeking a day out.

The təməsew̓txʷ / Sea Otter House Aquatic and Community Centre puts a greater focus on community connections and wellness-based activities, alongside more traditional sporting and fitness pursuits. Designed by hcma architecture + design, təməsew̓txʷ has been designed for all ages and abilities.

The original architecture of the swimming pool consisted of brickwork, a timber frame and a slate roof. It was modelled on the prevailing local building style and takes the form of a pavilion building whose public character finds expression solely in difference in scale. The Aquatics Centre is the only major facility built for the 2024 Paris Games. In legacy mode, it will be a public facility with a 50-m pool, a diving pool, a 25-m learning pool, multipurpose pool, and aqua-kids area.

Parramatta Aquatic Centre (PAC) is located in Parramatta Park, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and is situated in a distinct landscape concept which acknowledges the site’s historical vocation as a gathering place.

The swimming pool is located surrounded by several factories as well as villages and a secondary school. The site was originally the stockpiling area of the coal washing plant. Initially, the swimming pool was designed for the workers of the factory and their families. Now it is open to surrounding communities and pupils from the nearby school.
